【CNA】Dr Wang Huiyao on China applying to join CPTPP trade pact

China has said its application to join Asia-Pacific’s biggest free trade pact is unrelated to the recently formed alliance between Australia, Britain and the United States. China’s application for the CPTPP comes at a tricky time, given its trade tensions with Australia – a current member. All 11 members of the partnership will need to reach a consensus to allow Beijing to join. Dr Wang Huiyao, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization(CCG), shared his views on this.
